VIBE | Valley Innovation Business Exchange

The Valley Innovation Business Exchange (VIBE) is a one-day business innovation competition open to all 9th-12th grade students in the Riverview School District and Snoqualmie Valley School District.

Hosted by Empower Youth Network’s Pathways to Employment Success Program, VIBE is made possible through partnerships with both districts’ CTE departments, local chambers of commerce, and Remlinger Farms.

Registration
  • Student Registration Deadline: Friday, October 30 at 5:00 p.m.
  • Space is limited to 30 students total across both school districts.
  • Registration is required to reserve your spot.
Transportation & Meals
  • Lunch will be provided by Empower Youth Network.
  • Transportation will be provided by Riverview and Snoqualmie Valley School Districts.
Permission Forms

Permission Form Deadline: Friday, October 30 at 5:00 p.m.

After registering, students must:

  • Visit their school’s Career Center and connect with:
    • Wendy Scott (CHS), or
    • Julie Silverman (MSHS)

OR

  • Contact their district CTE Director:
    • Michelle Chaney (SVSD)
    • Mike Miyoshi (RSD)

Team Experience

Participants will be assigned to in 3-4 teams of 5-8 students and matched with a local business case study. Teams are intentionally assigned and balanced based on:

  • Student interests
  • Grade levels
  • School representation

Each team will work alongside experienced industry advisors (between their Business Advisor from the case study they work on & designated Team Advisor) to develop solutions to real-world business challenges and present their ideas to a panel of judges.

VIBE Student Orientation

All students that apply must attend a VIBE Student Orientation in early November.

Options will include:

  • In-person sessions at CHS and MSHS Career Centers
  • A virtual session for students unable to attend in person

Dates and times will be announced after registration.

Parent & Guardian Information

  • Parent/Guardian permission forms will be provided after student registration.
  • All adult participants, including advisors, judges, and volunteers, will complete a background check through the Riverview School District.

VIBE connects students with local businesses to solve authentic business challenges while building leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

We are currently seeking:

  • Business Case Study Partners (referred to as “Featured Business” in promotional materials)
  • Business Advisors to represent Business Case Study
  • Team Advisors
  • Judges
  • Event Volunteers
