January 8, 2026 @ 5:00 pm - January 14, 2026 @ 7:00 pm
We are accepting trainers! Register Here.

About: How to Help a Friend is a peer-to-peer suicide prevention training. The in-class middle school training is a peer-led educational program that teaches 6th – 8th grade students healthy coping strategies, how to recognize the signs and symptoms of suicidal thinking, and encourages help-seeking behaviors.

Registering for this training:

To be a teen leader/peer trainer who gives the presentations in the middle school classrooms, we are looking for 9 -12 grade aged students who wish to help lead the How to Help a Friend in person training at the Snoqualmie Valley School District (SVSD) and/or Riverview School District (RSD) Middle Schools.

This training requires committing to both training dates Thursday, January 8, and Wednesday, January 14; from 5 – 7 p.m. and located in Fall City at the Fall City Fire Station Meeting Room. Trainees will also need to be available during the school day to present to students at one or more of the SVSD and/or RSD Middle Schools:

Tolt Middle School (Carnation) – 2/11/26

Chief Kanim Middle School (Fall City) – TBD

Twin Falls Middle School (North Bend) – 3/3/26

Snoqualmie Middle School (Snoqualmie) – TBD

If the leader training dates don’t work for you, and you still want to participate as a leader:

If the January training dates are a scheduling conflict for you, please do not let this hold you back from registering! We will find other dates/ways to train leaders and make sure all that want to participate are prepared. If this is the case for you, email Sara@empoweryouthnetwork.org after registering.
