Weekend & Summer Power Packs

Empower Youth Network is committed to helping students thrive. Weekend Power Packs provide supplemental food to youth in the Riverview School District who may face food scarcity/insecurity over the weekends during the school year. During the summer, we launch Summer Power Packs to continue to ensure no youth go hungry over the break.

This community-based, largely grass roots effort takes a different format at each school to best meet the needs of the students at that school. On average, we currently distribute 200 packs a week.
There are plenty of ways to support Summer Power Packs!

Small Group Volunteering

How can you help? Come join us in our office this summer to pack Power Packs! We are looking for small groups of up to 4 people at a time to help us pack. You also don’t need to have a pair or group set in order to sign up, we can join up individual volunteers with others that have signed up. This activity is best suited for adults and children ages 10 and older.

Amazon Wish List

Our numbers are growing steadily, and purchasing items off our Amazon Wish List is so helpful in allowing us to keep up with making sure students do not go hungry.
If you would like to support us in this way, you can purchase directly from our Wish List (click here) or you can buy the food from that list at any other store and drop it off at our office. If you choose to drop it off, email us above, so that we can make sure someone is at the office when you come by.
Items purchased directly from the Amazon List are delivered to the program coordinator, who then brings them to the office.

Large Group Volunteering

Large group volunteering is a great option for schools, clubs, sports teams, businesses or offices, community organizations, and youth or friend groups. Interested in hosting a Power Pack Packing Party? Please let us know by contacting us at the email above.

Donations

Food Drives are also a great way to support Summer Power Packs! If you would like to organize a food drive, please note each Power Pack contains the following: 1 milk, 1 chocolate milk OR juice, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 4 snacks, and 1 protein bar. You can take a look at the Amazon Wish List above to find inspiration, or purchase directly from there! We also kindly ask that all food and drinks donated are shelf-stable and easy for youth to prepare.

If you prefer to make a tax-deductible donation specifically for Weekend Power Packs, please contact us at the email above or make a donation here.

Additional Food Resources

Food should not have to be another source of stress. Please find a list of help across Snoqualmie Valley below. Please share additional resources with us by contacting the program leadership below.
