Building Resiliency with Teri Barila
About the Instructor: Theresa (Teri) Barila, M.S., is the co-founder and Director of the Community Resilience Initiative (CRI) in Walla Walla, WA. Since 1997, as the Walla Walla County Community Network Coordinator, Teri engaged in community capacity development programming to support strengths-based and protective factors initiatives with particular focus on youth development. In 2009, Teri scaffolded the ACEs and Resilience research as a community-wide initiative (CRI) to embed the principles into practice and to build a sustainable infrastructure across all community sectors. The concepts of scaffolding, capacity development, and her science background and love of living systems theory continue to guide her approach in 2018 in building community engagement.
